  7. Use the following steps to unprotect Sidekick Version 1.5.  After 
  8. modifying SK.COM the program will no longer look for the key disk
  9. in Drive A: and you can run the program off your hard disk alone.

  12. You should modify a COPY of SK.COM with DEBUG by entering the
  13. following commands:
  14.  
  15. you enter:              DEBUG SK.COM    <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  16.                         A 089E          <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  17.  
  18. DEBUG responds with:    XXXX:089E       <XXXX CAN BE ANY NUMBER>
  19. you enter:              NOP             <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  20.  
  21. DEBUG responds with:    XXXX:089F
  22. you enter:              NOP             <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  23.  
  24. DEBUG responds with:    XXXX:08A0
  25. you enter:                              <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  26.                         A 08AD          <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  27.  
  28. DEBUG responds with:    XXXX:08AD
  29. you enter:              OR <TAB> AL,01  <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  30.  
  31. DEBUG responds with:    XXXX:08AF
  32. you enter:                              <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  33.                         W               <CARRIAGE RETURN>
  34.                         Q               <CARRIAGE RETURN>

  36. That's it!  The modified version will now run as an unprotected copy
  37. of Sidekick.

  40. REMINDER:  The instructions above enclosed in <BRACKETS> are not to 
  41.            be typed in; when it says <CARRIAGE RETURN> or <TAB>,
  42.            you should press that key at that point.  <You knew that,
  43.            didn't you?>
